Junior Jacob Hubel is the Athlete of the Week. Hubel pitched in the semifinals against Faith Lutheran and in the state championship against Sierra Vista, both times throwing a complete game. During the Eagles’ push to the Division I-A state title and their first since 2006, Hubel picked up 10 strikeouts and had an ERA of 2.50. Hubel plans to return to the Boulder City mound next year.
Advancing to 5-0 on the season, Boulder City High School boys tennis routed another league opponent on Sept. 8, defeating rival Virgin Valley 17-1.
Now at 4-1 on the season, Boulder City High School girls tennis is surprising their head coach, Rachelle Huxford, with how dominant they’ve been in 3A play.
