Street paving project underway

Work to repave several streets within Boulder City will begin soon as part of the 2016-2017 slurry seal maintenance project.

Public Works Director Scott Hansen said that Morgan Pavement Maintenance began Monday and will continue for approximately two months on various streets within the city. The company has already placed signs notifying residents about the project throughout streets in downtown Boulder City.

“Work will include site preparation, property owner notification, traffic control, crack sealing, slurry seal pavement overlay and cleanup,” Hansen said.

Streets to be worked on as part of the project include: Industrial, Buchanan, Joshua, Fir, Date, Railroad, Birch, Cherry, Ash, Avenue A, Avenue B, Aztec, and Hotel Plaza.

“The contract is for 60 days, so all work should be done by the end of July,” Hansen said.

The specific dates for road closures were not available and Morgan Pavement did not respond requests for this information.
