Boulder City Rotary Club and its satellite club put together more than 100 bags of hygiene supplies for the homeless Feb. 10. Assembling the bags, which included shampoo, cream rinse, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, feminine products, lip balm and lotion, were, from left, Myra Davis, Larry Smith, Christy Springgate-Hill, Beth Walker and Larry Archuletta. Items for the bags were donated by club members, the community and local businesses. The following day, the club sponsored lunch for 124 senior citizens at the Senior Center of Boulder City and donated $500 to the facility.

Photos by Ron Eland/Boulder City Review Over the weekend, the Rotary Club of Boulder City held its annual Best Dam Barbecue, which drew thousands of people. The event featured both a car and motorcycle show, music from Mike Pacini, dozens of vendors, and the star of the show, barbecue. In addition, vehicles of all ages filled the park both days of the festival.

The announcement came a day after the coroner’s office said a man who was also found dead in the house died from suicide. The Boulder City Police Department have not said publicly if the two deaths have been ruled a murder-suicide.
