Amber Oliver and Tara Spinkelink, members of the girls basketball team at Boulder City High School, were among those who volunteered to serve as elves on the Santa Train at the Nevada State Railroad Museum this year. The girls volunteered as pairs, with each set providing seven hours of time to listen to Christmas wishes and help entertain the riders. Team members volunteer with other events throughout the year, including Boulder City Sunrise Rotary Club’s annual Wurstfest.

We all know cool shade is a hot commodity during summer months. The amount of shade around our home determines whether outdoor living spaces are something we can enjoy as days get longer and sun gets stronger.
