Boulders Best, More holiday lights you don’t want to miss

Christmas decorations in Boulder City are like none other, and to showcase more of them, the Boulder City Review has created a second list of local holiday light displays.

400 block of Ash street

This house on Ash Street features Christmas lights of different colors as well as revolving snowflakes on the side of the house. It also includes stars and a lighted walkway.

700 block of Christina Drive

This street has many different Christmas and holiday light displays, including this one with twinkling lights and Santa Claus. It also has a Christmas tree above the garage.

Darlene Way

This house on Darlene Way is one of many on the street decorated for the holidays. It includes a many twinkling lights, a lighted Christmas tree, a lighted palm tree and animals.

Lillo Court

Not only does this house include many holiday lights and lighted trees, it also includes a llama. Revolving snowflakes are also projected on the side of the house.

600 block of Del Prado Drive

This home in the 600 block on Del Prado Drive is one of several that includes lights. This one though also includes Santa’s workshop and a polar bear.

Teamwork stressed for BC’s public schools

When walking into the Boulder City High School cafeteria last Wednesday, it was almost like stepping back in time nearly 100 years.

Giving back

Saturday evening, Calvary Chapel Boulder City hosted a back-to-school event at Veterans Memorial Park. There, free school supplies and clothing were given out to families. In addition, toys were raffled off, there were free hamburgers, live music and an appearance by the Boulder City Fire Department. Pastor Jason King said he was very happy with the turnout and wished to thank all of those who donated to the event.

Boulder Theatre to open its doors to events

Whether as a location for builders of Hoover Dam to escape the heat, a place to see movies with families, friends or a date, or a venue to enjoy ballet performances, the Boulder Theatre has been a favorite local historical landmark for nearly a century.

City not moving forward with motel district

It appears that everyone is on the same page in that they want to see motels in Boulder City retain their historic charm.

Ho(t), ho(t), ho(t)

It was Christmas in July Saturday as those seeking a little holiday cheer filled the basement of the Masonic Temple. The Boulder City Community Club and the Boulder City History and Arts Foundation co-hosted the event, which included a visit from Santa and the Grinch and Christmas music by Patrick Mahoney and Maire Egan on fiddle. More than a dozen gift baskets were donated by local residents and merchants as raffle prizes, while the food was also free thanks to donations. Proceeds were split between to the two hosting organizations.

City to appeal BLM’s data center plan

In a unanimous vote, the Boulder City Council voted to appeal the Trump administration’s unpopular approval of a data center that shut the public out.

Search continues for store tenant

It’s been a year since a trio of local business owners and friends purchased the former Central Market with a plan of bringing a second grocery store to Boulder City.
