Nix named to honor
roll at Ottawa University

Sommer E. Nix of Boulder City has been named to the dean’s honor roll for the spring 2016 semester at Ottawa University in Kansas.

For the honor, students must be enrolled full-time and have earned a minimum of 12 semester hours during the preceding semester and earned a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Founded in 1865, the mission of the nonprofit Ottawa University is to provide liberal arts and professional education in a Christ-centered community.

Webb named to honors list at Bentley University

Tyler Webb, a 2014 graduate of Boulder City High School, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.

To be named to the dean’s list, honorees must have a grade point average of 3.3 with no course grade below 2.0. He is the son of Dee Dee and Ken Webb of Boulder City.

Holling honored at Kansas university

Jessica Holling of Boulder City has been named to the spring 2016 dean’s honor roll at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas. Full-time students with a semester grade point average of 3.25-3.74 and no incompletes are listed on the dean’s honor roll at the end of each semester.

Founded in 1886. Kansas Wesleyan is a liberal arts university affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Hance inducted into honor society

Elizabeth Hance of Boulder City has been inducted into Beta Beta Beta, the national biological honor society at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts.

Founded in 1922, Tri-Beta is a society for students dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending the boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Members are encouraged to organize educational activities for the honor society.

In order to qualify for Tri-Beta a student must be a biology major who has taken at least three semesters of biology courses at Curry with a minimum 3.0 grade point average in those courses, as well as a minimum 3.0 grade point average overall.

Peterson named to dean’s list

Boulder City High School graduate Adam Peterson has been named to the dean’s list at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. To receive this honor, cadets must earn a minimum of a 3.15 grade point average while completing a minimum of 15 credits per semester with no grade less than a C in any course of three or more credit.

Peterson is pursing a degree in government with a concentration in international affairs.
