Men’s basketball league starts tonight

Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department’s adult men’s basketball league begins at 7 p.m. today in the new gymnasium at the city’s recreation center, 900 Arizona St.

The games are highly competitive and feature some of the city’s best athletes, according to department sports coordinator Kelly Lehr.

Games are played through February, with a double-elimination tournament concluding the season.

Youth basketball season starts Wednesday

Youth basketball begins Wednesday with third- and fourth-grade boys and girls playing Monday and Wednesday evenings and fifth- through seventh-grade boys and girls Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

The winter basketball league lasts through February.

This year Big O Tires, Boulder Concrete and Boulder Dam Credit Union sponsored all 15 youth teams.

Youth hockey holds clinics, prepares for season

Youth hockey clinics were held recently and games will begin this month.

Children in kindergarten through second grade will play Saturdays in the old gymnasium of the Boulder City Parks and Recreation Center, 900 Arizona St., through February. The annual opening ceremony is at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 28.

Boulder City Sunrise Rotary Club has sponsored the entire league.
