Saturday, I walked a mile in their shoes. While I wasn’t really wearing someone else’s shoes, for a short time I pictured what it could be like to be homeless.
It was the kind of night that would have made Dan Leach smile.
As the search continued early last Tuesday for two Las Vegas men missing since July 20 at Lake Mead, another swimmer disappeared.
Let me borrow a little wisdom from Abraham Lincoln. He once said “You may fool all the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all the time; but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.” The same thing applies when it comes to pleasing people.
Sometimes all it takes is one Jewell to recognize a true gem.

It’s summertime and the living should be easy. Vacation season is in full swing and school is out until August.

Although most of the people attending Friday’s street dance at the Senior Center of Boulder City were old enough to be regular visitors at the downtown facility, they were young in spirit and had an enthusiasm that was fresh and vibrant along with an eagerness to help.
