Windows look out into the tanks that will hold fingerling bonytail and razorback sucker fish at the newly remodeled Lake Mead Fish Hatchery Visitor Center at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The federal government has awarded the Southern Nevada Water Authority an $8.5 million grant to build new intakes to pump cooler water to the tanks to help ensure the endangered fishes’ survival.
