The Boulder City Hospital Foundation recently received a $5,600 grant from the Nevada Community Prevention Coalition for training performed by Ellise Hayden, Boulder City Hospital program director, in connection with a program for senior citizens entitled “Managing New Seasons” that was offered in Boulder City, Laughlin and Mesquite. The funds were provided by the Nevada Public and Behavioral Health Department and distributed through the Nevada Statewide Coalition Partnership. Saturday night, a large crowd donned their best 1980s attire, which included an abundance of neon-colored clothing as part of the aptly-named Neon Nights. The block party was hosted by Main Street Boulder City and served as a make-up event for their planned New Year’s Eve celebration, which was canceled due to impending weather. Attendees filled the restautants and bars along the steet, while listening to 80s music played by DJ Mike Pacini.

The event featured both a car and motorcycle show, music from Mike Pacini, dozens of vendors, and the star of the show, barbecue. In addition, vehicles of all ages filled the park both days of the festival.
