Coach Pete Amaya, left, vice president and manager of the Boulder City branch of Wells Fargo bank, presented a donation to Mark McBride, executive director of the Nevada State Veterans Home for the Nevada Veterans Assistance League. The donation came from the bank, Wells Fargo & Co. and the Wells Fargo Foundation of Nevada as a way to support veterans in the community.

Last Wednesday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom made a stop in Boulder City at the home of Judy Hoskins during an invitation-only gathering to help promote his new book, “Young Man in a Hurry.” He appeared at an event later that night in Las Vegas.
The Clark County School District continues to struggle financially as the growth of the nation’s fifth-largest school district has slowed at the same time students and parents are finding alternative education options.
Some major changes are coming soon to the Boulder City Hospital.
Monday was the first opportunity for residents to file as candidates in this year’s Boulder City Council election.
It’s definitely not a request the city receives every day.
Editor’s Note: After the printing of this edition, Martha P. King Elementary received word from the school district that it won its budget appeal and that both the PE and music positions will not have to go part-time this fall.
The July 4 Damboree is not only one of the most popular parades in the state, it is a big part of Boulder City’s history.
Even though the closing date to run for Boulder City Council and mayor is still more than a month away, there will be familiar faces in the race.
