Horseman’s trial postponed until June

The trial for a Boulder City man facing multiple counts of sexual assault has been postponed until June.

Peter Bennett, 68, was apprehended in August 2013 and faces 34 charges of sexual assaults of five female victims ages 16 to 21 over a five-year period.

One incident allegedly occurred at the Boulder City Horseman’s Association corrals on Aug. 17, 2013. Bennett leased a lot at the corrals, according to Scott Donnelly, former president of the association.

Bennett, a rodeo trainer, was indicted on multiple counts of sexual assault, kidnapping, open and gross lewdness, coercion, battery, and burglary — including 24 felonies and 10 gross misdemeanors.

Bennett’s jury trial, which was scheduled for last Monday, has been rescheduled for June 22 in District Court.
