For the past six months, Garrett Junior High Principal Melanie Teemant has been battling breast cancer. And while she’s winning, she realizes she still has a ways to go.

A federal appeals board is allowing the BLM to revisit its controversial approval of a Boulder City data center after judges found the agency likely violated environmental law.

Saturday, a good crowd turned out for the annual Harvest Festival hosted by Christian Center Church. The event featured a pumpkin patch, games for the kids, live music, vendors and free food. Proceeds from the fest helps pay for children to attend youth camps.

It’s been nearly two decades since Boulder City Chamber of Commerce CEO Jill Rowland Lagan first brought up the concept of having a one-stop shop for outdoor adventures.

Last Tuesday night, hundreds turned out for the city’s annual National Night Out at Veterans Memorial Park. There, attendees were treated to law enforcement demonstrations, prize drawings, free hamburgers from In-n-Out, games for the kids and the popular BCPD vs. BCFD softball game, which the fire department won.

It’s been about three weeks since Marissa Shoop took over the helm as CEO of St. Jude’s Ranch for Children and according to her, it couldn’t have started much better.
