Hinds again leads BCHS girls golf

Winning their fourth league match of the season, Boulder City High School girls golf dominated the field at Coyote Springs on Sept. 10.

Continuing their undefeated streak, the Eagles had a total team score of 349, followed by Virgin Valley (418) and Moapa Valley (520)

Leading the way, Emmerson Hinds finished first on the day with a total score of 69, while Makenzie Martorano finished second with a 91.

Morgen Terrill (93) and Ashlyn Ruter (96) finished third and fifth on the day to round out the dominant effort.

Results from the Eagles’ Sept. 15 match will be in next week’s issue.

Girls volleyball

Battling to the very end, Boulder City High School girls volleyball dropped a heartbreaker to rival Moapa Valley 3-2 on Sept. 9.

Falling in defeat 25-23, 22-25, 25-17, 14-25, 13-15, the Eagles dropped to 7-8 on the season.

Doing everything to keep the Eagles in the game, Bella Battistone generated 13 kills with 13 digs defensively and four serving aces, while Juliette Kelso added 11 kills.

Filling the stat sheet, Laylani Gubler dished out 15 assists, with 17 digs, seven aces and five blocks, while Ally Jappe made a game-high 20 digs.

Kenley Poff made five blocks, while Lauren Mueller added three blocks.

Looking to rebound, the Eagles will host Cristo Rey on Tuesday.

Boys soccer

Boulder City High School boys soccer advances to 1-4-2 on the season, tying with league rival Moapa Valley, while falling to Pahrump Valley.

Tying with Moapa Valley 1-1 on Sept. 8, the Eagles would later fall to the Trojans 3-1 on Sept. 14.

No stats for either of these matches were reported by coaches.

Looking for their first league victory of the season, the Eagles will will travel to Equipo Academy on Tuesday.
