Boulder City was awarded a $1.9 million grant from the Economic Development Administration to retrofit its light fixtures to help it obtain Dark Skies certification and make it easier to see the stars and celestial objects, including a star gazing events such as the one held in June 2019 at Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
