Grace Academy student wins best of show at science fair

Jack Dwyer, a third-grader at Grace Christian Academy, won the best of show award and a blue superior ribbon at the Association of Christiain Schools International district science fair. His project was “How to build a reed motor.”

Ty Lehr, fourth grade, earned a superior ribbon for his project “Want the dirt on Nevada soil?”

Winning excellent ribbons were: Jack Ferrence, fifth grade, “Does tee height affect distance?”; Keifer Reinhart, fifth grade, “Why does the chicken cross the road?”; and Gabe Edwards, sixth grade, “Does artificial light affect cabbage cloning?”

Kelly named to honor roll at Spokane college

Patricia Kelly of Boulder City was named to the winter 2015 honor roll list at Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Wash. To receive honor roll status, students must earn a 3.0 grade- point average or higher.

Community Colleges of Spokane is a 12,300-square-mile state community college district that includes Spokane Community College, Spokane Falls Community College and six rural education sites.
