Holiday dodgeball tourney set for Dec. 20

The Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a one day holiday dodgeball tournament at noon Dec. 20 at the Recreation Center, 900 Arizona St.

The field is limited to eight teams. There is a team fee of $60.

The event also benefits Emergency Aid of Boulder City and teams will receive a bonus if they bring a nonperishable food or personal toiletry item.

Youth basketball league registration extended

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department has extended the registration period for its youth basketball leagues through Tuesday.

The four leagues are open to boys and girls in third through seventh grades, with them divided by age and sex.

Additionally, basketball clinics will be held Tuesday to acquaint children with the league and assist with skills. They are scheduled for 6 p.m. for third and fourth grade boys and girls, and at 6:30 p.m. for fifth through seventh grade boys and girls.

No experience is required.

Players will be assigned to teams after the final clinic. Games begin in mid-January.

Cost is $39 per child and includes all games, practices and a team uniform. Coaches are also needed. For more information, call 702-293-9254.
