City’s tennis courts slated for repairs

Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department will close the tennis courts at Broadbent and Hemenway parks this month for renovations.

The courts at Broadbent Park, 1301 Fifth St., are scheduled for repairs Oct. 13-22. The courts at Hemenway Park, 401 Ville Drive, are scheduled for repairs Oct. 23-27.

All repairs are subject to weather conditions and the scheduled closures may change slightly, according to Patti Sullivan, recreation program coordinator.

Tennis classes offered at Broadbent Park

Tennis classes are being offered by Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department for those 13 and older.

Classes are held on Thursdays at the tennis courts at Broadbent Park, 1301 Fifth St., and are scheduled for 6-7 p.m. now through May and 7-8 p.m. June through August. Cost is $10 per class, and equipment is supplied.

Private, semiprivate and small group lessons are available.

For those 4-12 who are interested in learning tennis, instructor McKay Stevens offers group and private lessons.
