July may have just started, but it has proved to be an unfavorable month for the Boulder City Connie Mack summer league 18 and younger baseball team.
On July 1, the Eagles suffered a loss to Palo Verde 14-2.
Preston Van Diest had one RBI.
Steve Wagner pitched four innings, allowing five hits and five walks, with three strikeouts. Austin Shepard closed, pitching two innings, allowing three hits and six walks, with three strikeouts.
The game on Monday night against the Las Vegas Bulldogs was rained out.
On Tuesday, Boulder City hosted the Las Vegas Wildcats, and lost 4-1. Details of the game were not available before deadline.
That left the eagles with a 5-14 record for the season to date.
Boulder City has two games remaining this summer, the first is at 10 a.m. today Legacy High School against the Longhorns, which has a record of 1-20.
Friday they face the Mustangs, which has a 10-9 record, at 5 p.m. at Shadow Ridge High School.
The Southern Nevada Connie Mack Baseball state tournament begins Monday at the College of Southern Nevada. The top eight overall teams from the National and American divisions will advance to the double-elimination tournament. Boulder City is playing in the National division.
