Injuries plague El Rancho team

El Rancho Boulder is really banged up right now with leading scorer Mike Carboni (hamstring) and big man Scott Scheppmann (turf toe) struggling to play; the team has gone from a preseason favorite to a one loss from elimination.

El Rancho lost its opening playoff game in the Boulder City Parks & Recreation Men’s Basketball League game to gRIM reap 65-59 Feb. 27. Woodbury Law continues to win the close ones, squeaking out a nail-biter against Fiochhi 49-46, while defending tournament champion Flight S2S remains hot by winning its fourth consecutive game with a 89-73 victory against Duetto.

The double-elimination tournament continues today with three games at the recreation center. They will be played at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
