Flight’s wins send team to top of standings

Flight won twice this past week and extended its streak to four consecutive wins to distance itself from the field in the Boulder City Parks &Recreation Department’s men’s basketball league.

Flight defeated Jimmy John’s 83-79 to avenge its sole loss of the season, on Jan. 22. Team manager Rob Sandoval and his strong supporting cast have really hit their stride in recent games.

Sandoval and Flight teammates Mike Hernandez and Mike Carboni have all moved onto the list of the league’s top 10 leading scorers.

Jimmy John’s has done its best to keep pace with Flight by winning four of five games. DeShawn Henderson is Jimmy John’s top scorer, averaging 19 points per game.

Woodbury Law and Credit Union round out the standings in third and fourth place, respectively. The final regular season games were scheduled for Feb. 10, and the double-elimination tournament begins Tuesday.
