Rematch starts men’s basketball league

The Boulder City Parks and Recreation men’s basketball season is underway with games starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the recreation center, 900 Arizona St.

The second night of play this season included a rematch between two of last year’s top teams, Flight S2S and Boulder Chiropractic, with Boulder Chiropractic pulling out an 84-81 victory, according to Steve Corry, recreation coordinator. Jake Hasselbury led the winning team with 30 points while Rob Sandoval, with 28 points, was the hight scorer for Flight S2S.

Current standings:

Boulder Chiropractic, 2-0; Boulder Dam Credit Union, 2-0; Boulder City Family Mortuary, 1-1; Ragin’ Roadrunners, 1-1; Flight S2S, 0-2; Woodbury Law, 0-2.

 

Youth basketball program starts new season

Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department’s youth basketball league starts another season this week at the recreation center, 900 Arizona St.

Leagues for boys and girls in third through seventh grades play from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

This year’s sponsors include Ace Shopper Stopper Hardware, Canyon Trail RV Park, Nash Electric and Plaza Realty.

The games are open to the public and offer exciting action, said recreation coordinator Steve Corry.
