Synergy leading volleyball league
Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department’s adult women’s volleyball ends regular play tonight. Synergy is leading the standings with a 9-0 record with The Heavy Hitters second at 7-2 record.
The double-elimination tournament will be held the next two Monday nights at the city Recreation Center gymnasium, 900 Arizona St.
Five teams competing in adult kickball
Adult kickball is proving to be a fun addition to the adult sports programming with five teams entering the league this year, according to Kelly Lehr, sports coordinator for the city. Thunder Cankles is currently in first place at 5-0, and The Fireballs is in second with a 4-1 record. Games can be watched at 7 and 8 p.m. on the ball fields at Hemenway Valley Park, 401 Ville Drive.
Youth ball season opens May 11
Youth tee-ball, coach pitch, softball and baseball for the Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department are beginning practices, with games slated to begin May 11.
Tee-ball and coach pitch play games at Pratte Baseball Field at Veterans’ Memorial Park, 1650 Buchanan Blvd., and baseball and softball play at Bravo Softball Field, 891 Avenue B.
Opening ceremonies will be held at 5:30 p.m. May 11 at Pratte Baseball Field. All of the teams and sponsors will be recognized.
