High school rodeo on tap Saturday, Sunday

More than 125 contestants from throughout the state are scheduled to compete in the annual Boulder City High School Rodeo on Saturday and Sunday at the Boulder City Horseman’s Association arena.

Students in sixth through 12 grades will vie in events such as barrel racing, goat tying, ribbon roping, bull riding, team roping, calf tiedown and saddle broncs.

Boulder City High will be represented by McKenzie Cowan, Riley Nelson, Rachel Rohay, Jarad Sanford and Bailey Trodhal.

Throughout the event, the Shepherd Shack will sell refreshments, with proceeds benefiting the association.

From 6-9 p.m. Saturday, 2 Wheels at 567 Nevada Way will present a free event featuring hot dogs, chips, drinks and s’mores, with donations and any proceeds benefiting the high school’s rodeo team.
