Bowlers continue win streak by defeating Sunrise Mountain

The boy’s bowling team at Boulder City High School picked up right where it left off before the holiday break by taking all nine points against Sunrise Mountain Tuesday afternoon at Sam’s Town Bowling Center.

The Eagles won their first game by nearly 400 pins and had a team average of 191. Dylan Amico led the way with a 210, Teagan Smale finished with a 205, Conner Armstrong finished with a 183, and Randall Berkheimer bowled a 167.

The Eagles kept their foot on the gas pedal the entire match and destroyed the Miners by 406 pins the final game. Boulder City finished its last game with a team score of 802, while Sunrise Mountain limped its way to a 396.

Berkheimer shook off his first game struggles and came back with games of 188 and 234, respectively, to finish with a 589 series. Smale, who improved his average to 213 on the season, roared back with a 226 and a 248 to finish with a 679 series for the match.

Smale shot a 299 in the team’s final match against Chaparral before the two-week holiday break. The Eagles took seven of nine points against the Cowboys, establishing a firm grip on first place with the season winding down.

The Eagles are 54-9 with three matches remaining on their schedule.

The Lady Eagles had a tough time against Sunrise Mountain and were unable to leave Sam’s Town with a single point. Alexis Cable led the way with a 348 series, and Abigail Harling’s 147 game was high for the match.

Boulder City faces Southeast Career Technical Academy at 3 p.m. today at Boulder Bowl.
