Ragin’ Roadrunners advance in tourney

Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department men’s basketball league had some competitive games this past week, according to Kelly Lehr, recreation coordinator.

The Ragin’ Roadrunners were victorious over Boulder City Family Mortuary 62-59, and Woodbury Law beat Flight S2S 60-51. The two winning teams met Feb. 25 where the Roadrunners advanced in the tournament bracket with a 62-53 win.

The Credit Union beat Boulder City Chiropractic 62-46, sending Boulder City Chiropractic into the loser bracket where it faced the Ragin’ Roadrunners on Tuesday in an elimination game. The winner faced the undefeated Credit Union. The results of the championship game were too late to report and will be in next week’s issue.

The high scorers for the week were Ryan Emling from Boulder City Family Mortuary, who scored 37 points in the game against the Ragin’ Roadrunners; Rob Sandoval from Flight S2S, who scored 31 points in the game against Woodbury Law; and Shane Levin from The Credit Union, who scored 25 points in the game against Boulder City Chiropractic.

Women’s volleyball league starting

The parks and recreation department’s women’s adult volleyball league will have an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Recreation Center, 900 California Ave.

Any representatives from area teams are encouraged to attend the meeting.

League games are slated to begin at the end of March and will be played in the evening every Monday through the month of April.
