The driver of a red Cherokee Jeep got on north-bound U.S. Highway 95 going in the wrong direction, then used the median to correct his direction.
March 18, 12:49 p.m.
A woman came into the lobby of the police station to report that the manager of a local motel was holding a credit card hostage until paying for a room that she stayed in overnight but did not like.
March 18, 10:20 p.m.
An abandoned red and black baby stroller was found near the splash park at Veterans’ Memorial park. It was taken to the police station’s impound facility.
March 19, 12:51 a.m.
Police received a call about some one driving erratically near Slate Mountain Drive and Potosi Street. The caller, an off-duty park officer, took action to protect himself because the driver was coming toward him. The driver, who was wearing a white hooded jacket, was seen running into a house. When approached by police, a person wearing the same jacket came out and said he was the driver, however the reporting party said it was not the same person. The person claiming to be the driver was not intoxicated, but was given a warning.
March 19, 7:35 p.m.
Police received a call about several large crates that were placed over the drainage hole, creating another hole about 3-feet wide near the intersection of Ninth Street and Avenue I that could be a hazard.
March 20, 12:08 a.m.
Police received a call about an open garage door and lights flickering inside the garage. The caller, a neighbor, said the owners go on vacation frequently and no one answered when she knocked on the door. The owner was contacted and provided a phone number for a friend who was coming to close the door. The friend was at the property earlier and left before confirming the garage door closed properly.
March 20, 11:37 a.m.
Police were called to Boulder City High School about students coming to school drunk. Officers checked on the potential “party” site but couldn’t locate any activity there.
March 20, 3:26 p.m.
Police contacted a man after receiving a call about him lying on the road near the dry lake bed. The man stated he was walking to Laughlin; he had water and was aware of the distance.
March 20, 8:26 p.m.
Officers received a call from St. Jude’s Ranch for Children about a woman at the front gate demanding holy water because she was seeing demons. The woman was gone when officers arrived on scene.
March 21, 11:47 a.m.
Policed received a call about a man and a woman fighting. The caller said the man was yelling and threatening to cut himself with a knife. When officers arrived, the female was gone and the man denied threatening to hurt himself.
March 21, 9:19 p.m.
Officers assisted a person who had a snake on his back patio. The snake was captured and released south of the city limits.
March 22, 7:10 a.m.
Officers assisted animal control with a chihuahua that was found at the landfill.
March 22, 10:06 a.m.
Policed received a call about two teenagers arguing for more than 45 minutes. It appeared the young girl was trying to leave and the male was blocking her with his bike.
March 22, 10:19 a.m.
Police received a call about a person on a scooter purposely hitting a bicyclist. The bicyclist was transported for medical assistance.
March 22, 5:14 p.m.
A woman called police to report that her iPad was taken from her unlocked car. It was worth about $1,200.
