A woman reported a suspicious male she had never seen before carrying a golf club in the desert behind her house, before entering the yard of another residence. The man said he was the adult son of the neighboring residence and had been encouraged to carry a club in case of snakes.
March 24, 4:16 p.m.
A woman became lost when listening to her GPS, turned down Avenue B and drove from Wyoming Street to Nevada Way in the wrong direction. An officer advised the driver to pay attention to the road and not blindly do everything the GPS may suggest.
March 24, 4:46 p.m.
A woman reported receiving a call from an angry male that accused her of possessing his package from Columbia, claimed that he knew where she lived and he would find her and retrieve it. Police returned the call, but the number was out of service.
March 24, 8:11 a.m.
A caller complained to officers that an unknown harasser had poured motor oil over the front doorstep.
March 25, 8:31 a.m.
A man complained to officers that someone at McDonald’s had called him a name; officers advised the man to walk away when someone insults him and not seek a confrontation.
March 25, 11:52 a.m.
An officer received a call reporting bullet holes found in the caller’s bird feeder. The caller claimed that neighbors are to blame and should receive a citation.
March 25, 5:56 p.m.
A caller reported a man dressed in all black snapping a whip, with a group of five juveniles near the church.
March 25, 7:22 p.m.
Two mopeds were seen weaving in and out of traffic and blowing through stop signs before attempting to flee police, eventually leaving their vehicles, climbing walls and trying to escape on foot. Two juvenile suspects were detained and cited for obstructing an officer.
March 26, 3:49 p.m.
Officers were notified of multiple juveniles throwing rocks at ducks in the pond at Veterans’ Memorial Park; officers spoke with the juveniles and their parents, asking them to keep kids from assaulting animals at the park.
March 28, 1:45 a.m.
Officers received a call reporting that power had gone out to an entire neighborhood and that a short time later that caller began to see unexplained, suspicious flashlights.
March 28, 5:09 p.m.
A man called to report that someone had stolen his dog and when officers suggested that because of the extreme winds a number of animals had escaped during the day the man claimed that was not possible because of the locks on his gates. Upon finding his gate open the man called animal control before finding his pet hiding in a room of his house.
