March 8, 12:45 p.m.

Officers received a call about a man shooting at targets in the desert. Officers were unable to locate the man.

March 8, 4:55 p.m.

A man called to report that his wife has received a telephone call from someone claiming that their Microsoft program was not valid and they needed to send a $300 check. The woman was told to turn on her computer and look for a notice that said the program was not valid; she found the notice, but did not send any money.

March 8, 9:18 p.m.

Officers received a call about a potentially suicidal man. The man’s former girlfriend said he sent her a picture of cuts on his arm. After interviewing the man, it was determined the cuts were from a newly adopted aggressive kitten and he did not intend to harm himself, but thought the pictures might entice the woman to resume their relationship.

March 9, 12:46 p.m.

Officers responded to assist a man who was hit in the face by a tree branch and was bleeding. The branch hit him while he was trimming the tree.

March 10, 7:40 a.m.

A woman called to report that she believes someone is trying to get into her backyard at night. She put a lock on her back gate and it is now missing. After investigating, officers determined that unknown subjects have been sleeping in the unlocked casita in her backyard. Nothing appeared to be missing.

March 11, 2:02 a.m.

A man called to report that his house was robbed and that someone is standing on top of his house.

March 12, 7:47 a.m.

Officers received a call about people sleeping in a car parked in the alley for the past four nights. The man and woman were found watching a movie in the front seat. The woman said she lives there but when she comes home late her mother gets mad and locks her out of their home. She said it has happened for the past three nights. The woman’s mother was not available to comment on the situation at that time.

March 12, 4:54 p.m.

Officers received a call about a 1-year-old child on the sidewalk alone in the front of a house. The caller saw the same child in the street with no adults around about a week ago. The case was referred to Child Protective Services.

March 13, 1:45 a.m.

Officers received a call about a group of about 300 people in a drum circle on the dry lake bed. The caller said that a friend may have taken something and was “freaking out.” Medical assistance was called.

March 13, 11:36 a.m.

Someone called to report that a man and woman appeared to have set up camp in Broadbent Park near the pool. Clothes, trash and playing cards were littering the area. It seemed that the man was cracking a whip. Upon contacting the man, officers learned that he had emptied all of his belongings from his backpack onto the ground while looking for his cellphone charger.

March 13, 9:40 p.m.

Officers received several calls about something in the roadway that was causing cars to get flat tires. One caller also said it could be that someone was shooting at the tires.

March 15, 11:28 a.m.

A woman called to report that her 6-foot utility trailer was stolen. Officers told her to contact the storage facility’s manager to see if it had been moved. The woman’s mother called back to say that the trailer had been hidden by someone else because she owed money. The owner of the storage facility said the trailer was secured because it was left out. It was returned to its owner and both parties said they would settle the issue.
