Dec. 15, 2015, 10:11 p.m.

Officers were called when a woman reported her husband was texting her while having a failure to appear bench warrant out for domestic battery. When the deputy arrived on the scene, the suspect ambushed him and attempted to take the deputy’s gun. The suspect fled scene on foot and has not yet been apprehended.

 

Dec. 16, 2015, 6:07 a.m.

Officers were called after one car hit the guardrail on the U.S. Highway 95 and another vehicle was run off the roadway. No injuries were reported after the accident.

 

Dec. 16, 2015, 6:35 p.m.

Neighbors called to report drag racing that had been happening up and down their street. The neighbors who reported the drag racing said it was not at a specific address and it lasted for 20 minutes.

 

Dec. 17, 2015, 10:08 a.m.

Police were called after a man accidentally discharged his 9mm gun and shot his dog in the tail. The dog was taken to Grateful Pet animal clinic where he is expected to make a full recovery.

 

Dec. 17, 2015, 4:29 p.m.

A female called 911 after a dispute with her boyfriend. She said her boyfriend began to break things in the house and put his hands on her. Medical attention was refused by the woman, who called in to report the altercation.

 

Dec. 17, 2015, 4:33 p.m.

The parents of a 15-year-old child called in after finding a large amount of guns and ammunition in their son’s bedroom. The guns were handed over to the parents, and the son insists he was not trying to hurt himself or others.

 

Dec. 18, 2015, 7:10 p.m.

An owner of an empty house called police to report that squatters were living in his house, and requested officers enter the home and clear it of anyone inside the residence. The owner of the home had been unable to catch the squatters previously, and advised the cops to force their entry through the left exterior window.

 

Dec. 20, 2015, 7:51 a.m.

A motorist was heading northbound toward Cascata Road when he hit a coyote. The coyote bounced off the vehicle and onto the shoulder of the roadway at the off-ramp of U.S. Highway 93 onto U.S. Highway 95.

 

Dec. 20, 2015, 3:46 p.m.

A woman was dragged approximately 10 feet after refusing to let go of her grandfather’s car. The grandfather told her three times to close the car door, and when she refused he drove off and made a right turn onto Fifth Street. The granddaughter refuses to press charges.

 

Dec. 21, 2015, 4:42 a.m.

Officers were called onto the scene after receiving a call from the husband of a 30-year-old female that was demonstrating abnormal behavior and attempting to commit suicide. The caller stated that the woman lost their baby and was attempting to bite herself and other members of the family.

 

Dec. 21, 2015, 9:42 p.m.

A person called for officer response after someone broke in and broke the bed and several pieces of furniture. After evaluating the scene and talking to the caller’s girlfriend, it was revealed that he did not take his medication and was possibly using methamphetamines that was making him paranoid. He remained under his girlfriend’s supervision.
