Dec. 26, 12:15 p.m.
Officers received a report that an airplane passenger was requesting an ambulance at the far west end of the airport near Scenic Airlines for an unknown reason.
Dec. 26, 2:57 p.m.
Animal control received a call that there were sheep at the house on a corner. They were on the lawn and destroying the landscape.
Dec. 26, 7:11 p.m.
A caller reported that several juvenile boys were knocking on doors and jumping in and out of backyards. Upon arrival, officers found that the juveniles were gone but had been playing ding dong ditch. Approximately two and a half hours later, officers found the possible location of the “ding dong ditchers.” Officers talked to five juveniles and one father. They all denied the reported actions, but the dad did say there were being loud outside. He said that he would take them home and advise them to make right choices.
Dec. 27, 11:11 a.m.
A woman called and said that she had sent Meals on Wheels to someone’s home and the delivery driver was telling her that someone was yelling for help inside the residence. The driver was still there and waiting for help to arrive. Upon arrival officers found that the man was conscious but needed medical help. Officers said that he was found lying on the living room floor and was complaining of leg and neck pain. He had fallen twice and appeared to have passed out on the second fall. The man was transported to Boulder City Hospital.
Dec. 27, 2:22 p.m.
Officers received a report of two missing children, one boy and one girl. The caller thought they had been next door but found them gone when looking for them. Nine minutes later both children were located at their father’s house.
Dec. 27, 3:51 p.m.
The fire department received a call that a trailer was on fire. Upon arrival, officers found a cargo trailer near the residence on fire with bushes smoldering near it. Ten minutes later water was put on the fire.
Dec. 28, 4:13 p.m.
The fire department responded to a call of smoke pouring out of a trailer with no visible flames. The caller was unable to give dispatch an exact address but told them, “You can’t miss it.” Four minutes later the police department was on scene and had everyone out of the manufactured home. Approximately 10 minutes later, a second alarm was put out for the Henderson Fire Department to assist. The all clear was given almost an hour after the call, and the necessary utility companies were notified. The fire possibly started in the crawl space under the manufactured home.
Dec. 28, 5:12 p.m.
Officers received a call that someone had locked a baby in a vehicle at a pump at a gas station. Seventeen minutes later officers found that someone at the scene had pried open the door of the vehicle. No other assistance was needed.
Dec. 28, 9:26 p.m.
Officers received a report of a school’s alarm going off with a red vehicle parked out front. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle unoccupied. The school police department advised them that on camera they had seen four people walking around the school as well as others in the construction area. Later, one father arrived on the scene to pick up a juvenile.
Dec. 29, 5:07 p.m.
A man called the police and said that he thought several juveniles in another backyard were on meth because they had been raking leaves for the past hour. He said that was “very unusual behavior.” Upon investigation, officers contacted the juveniles’ father, who said that he was shocked that someone would call about his kids cleaning the backyard.
Dec. 30, 2:31 a.m.
Nevada Highway Patrol in Carson City called the police department and said that they received information that a plane coming into the Boulder City Airport was issuing a distress signal. Once the plane was located, officers found that there was an audible alarm going off in the plane and there was no way to way to turn it off. They informed NHP in Carson City of the situation.
Dec. 30, 11:53 a.m.
Officers received a report that a man and his two sons were shooting a rifle outside the entrance to Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club. He was not sure if that was allowed. Ten minutes later officers arrived on the scene.
Dec. 30, 4:16 p.m.
Officers received a report that a motor home was stuck on the median of U.S. Highway 95, 3 miles south of the overpass. It appeared that the driver attempted to turn the motor home around over the median and became stuck. There were no injuries.
Dec. 31, 9:51 p.m.
Officers reported that they were out with approximately 20 people, who were lighting illegal fireworks. In lieu of a citation, they gave the officers the fireworks.
Jan. 1, 2018, 8:39 p.m.
Officers responded to the report of a fire behind a gas station. Upon arrival, they found the fire to be contained in a pit. They detained one subject, who was transient and said he was trying to keep warm.
