Sept. 27, 7:19 a.m.
School administrators found a large knife in a student’s locker, and officers soon learned he was the same student reported as a suspect in a battery the previous afternoon. The student was cited for possession of a dangerous weapon and battery, while an additional mother filled out a statement regarding threats made by the suspect.
Sept. 27, 8:49 p.m.
Officers received reports of a couple shouting at each other, with the woman yelling that her husband was abusing her. Upon the arrival of officers, the couple said that the argument had not gotten violent and that the man has cancer, so stress levels were high.
Sept. 27, 12:49 p.m.
A man reported that his home had been burglarized over the previous weekend and that it appeared the burglar had broken in through the dog door and stolen his guns and ammo.
Sept. 27, 12:57 p.m.
A woman came to the police department to report that she had been hit, choked and shoved earlier that day at an apartment complex by a man with multiple guns who was coming down from drugs and was very agitated. Police surrounded the apartment complex and after nearly two hours, officers removed the man from the apartment, with the assistance of the woman who had filed the complaint, and took him into custody.
Sept. 28, 9:44 a.m.
A caller complained that there were crates in a back alley believed to be explosives, as they were labeled “for military use only.” Officers determined that the crates contained steel canisters of rolled oats packaged in 1998 in Salt Lake City.
Sept. 28, 6:20 p.m.
A man called to complain that a group of children, mostly boys with one girl, were walking up and down the alley, opening trash bags, spreading the trash around and throwing things into people’s yards. The man confronted the unsupervised children, who he judged to be 10-12 years old, and said they cursed him out.
Sept. 29, 7:33 p.m.
A caller reported that he had been burglarized in the past 24 hours and that the back door lock had been damaged. The caller said he didn’t think anything had been taken but wanted to alert officers in case any other homes were broken into.
Sept. 30, 1:07 p.m.
A woman called to report that she and her friend were hanging out at Jack’s Place, where a man against whom her friend had a temporary protective order had driven past them three times, staring as he went by.
Oct. 1, 12:44 p.m.
A man called police to report that two women and one man were loitering outside a building they did not live in and that he suspected they were waiting to buy drugs. Officers arrived and found no one loitering but were told by witnesses that a resident was selling pills and drugs.
