A caller reported that a female truck driver had fallen asleep behind the wheel and hit a concrete pillar next to a gas pump before driving away.
Sept. 6, 3:30 p.m.
A woman stopped in the police department to report that her son was the victim of a hit-and-run that morning when he was struck by a light gray sedan while riding his bike to school. Though the bike was damaged in the incident, the child was unharmed.
Sept. 6 3:38 p.m.
A caller reported seeing a truck with a dog locked inside, parked next to a restaurant. The caller was worried because the vehicle’s window was cracked only slightly, and the dog appeared to be in distress.
Sept. 7, 12:13 a.m.
A woman called for emergency services when her 1-week-old infant began to choke and stopped breathing. The woman was able to clear the child’s airway, and, by the time responders arrived, the child was breathing on its own.
Sept. 7, 12:52 p.m.
Callers reported two men were walking door to door at downtown businesses selling items, and one caller suspected they were unlicensed. Officers located the two and informed them that they needed to carry proper paperwork to sell things in Boulder City.
Sept. 7, 3:24 p.m.
A woman called to complain to officers that her daughter was receiving harassing texts from a juvenile who already was on house arrest, threatening her daughter over a missing skateboard. She added that adult family members of the juvenile had begun to involve themselves. Police advised her to search for the skateboard and to call one of the adults herself.
Sept. 7, 6:54 p.m.
A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Nevada Way, with a woman slumped over the steering wheel. Upon their arrival, officers were told by the woman that she was resting while waiting for someone who was on the way to jump-start her car.
Sept. 8, 11:01 a.m.
Officers again responded to calls of the same suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Nevada Way that had not moved since officers spoke to the driver the night before. The caller advised officers that she had been sleeping in the car overnight and had struck the caller’s car in the parking lot. Officers spoke to the woman again and this time took her to The Shade Tree shelter in Las Vegas.
Sept. 8, 4:48 p.m.
A caller requested officers make a report of an attempted burglary from the previous evening. According to the complaint, the lock was picked and the door was open, but the caller turned the light on when entering the home and must have scarred any burglars off. Officers made the night crew aware of the incident and requested additional patrols.
Sept. 8, 6:53 p.m.
A caller complained that, after doing work for a male client, the client had become upset about the estimate, pulled out a knife and went back into his trailer, leaving the caller outside.
Sept. 9, 11:39 p.m.
A woman called requesting assistance after she had, at the behest of someone she believed to be a manager, given money to a co-worker, who then left in her car, before finding out that the person she had spoken to was not a manager. She was unable to reach the person who had taken her money and her car.
