Contractors board revokes carpenter’s license

The Nevada State Contractors Board has found a local carpentry contractor to be guilty of violating multiple state laws.

On Nov. 16, Edward Monroe Olson, who does business as B.O.A Construction, lost his license and was fined $4,200 after the board concluded that his company was guilty of eight violations, which included disregard of the state’s building laws, failure to establish financial responsibility, failure to include his license number on a bid or contract, contracting beyond the scope of a license, bidding in excess of a license’s monetary limit and substandard workmanship.

The company has been fined for violations in 2013 after aiding and abetting an unlicensed contractor. B.O.A was forced to pay a fine of $1,975, according to public records.
