Shooters converge on Boulder City

The Pro Gun Club in Boulder City served as the site for the Western Regional 3-Gun Nation Tournament presented by Remington Saturday and Sunday.

The event featured 175 shooters, using pistols, rifles and shotguns, competing in nine stages of fire with a variety of challenges.

The top finishers were Keith Garcia and Larry Houck.

More than $50,000 in awards and prizes was presented to the winners, including 25 firearms from Remington, the title sponsor.

“What was impressive was not only the shooters, but also the staff, dealing with the heat and the wind, which was tremendous,” 3GN Club and Regional Series Director Charles Sole said.

“This venue forced us to do more within traditional range bays, but the course of fire was nevertheless challenging. In terms of match logistics, the Western Regional ran even better than the Southeastern Regional back in March.”

The tournament was the second of four matches in the inaugural 3GN Regional Championship Series, presented by Cheaper Than Dirt!
