Honoring heroes during the holidays
An American flag was placed at one of the gravesites along with a wreath.
Darcee (Werly) Romero, a Boulder City native, and members of her family, helped volunteer in placing of the wreaths.

Volunteers were broken into several groups through the cemetery. Here, many wait in line to be given wreaths to be placed.

More than 1,000 turned out Saturday morning for the annual Wreaths Across America at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Following an hour-long ceremony, which featured Lt. Gov. Stavros Anthony, family members and hundreds of volunteers placed more than 12,000 wreaths.
