The annual End of Summer Showcase, to be held Saturday evening in Veterans’ Memorial Park, has selected the After-School All-Stars Las Vegas as this year’s charity partner.
EOS Showcase, a nonprofit organization that provides educational tools to underprivileged, high-risk or neglected children, is asking attendees at Saturday’s event to bring school supplies, which will be donated to ASAS and distributed to 5,000 underprivileged students in 13 Clark County School District elementary and middle schools.
More than 1,500 people are expected to attend the showcase, scheduled from 5-10 p.m., which will include a car show, dance competition, entertainment, games and food trucks. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
“We are thankful and grateful to have been chosen as the charity partner for this year’s EOS Showcase,” said Ranna Daud, executive director of After-School All-Stars. “School supplies are a constant need among our students, who often cannot afford even the most basic items. And the need is always greatest at the beginning of the school year, so the timing of the event is perfect.”
The park is at 1650 Buchanan Blvd.
