Local actors featured in ‘Carrie the Musical’

Two Boulder City residents, Joey Derby and Mary Rose Stark, are featured in Majestic Repertory Theatre’s current production of “Carrie the Musical.”

The show is based on Stephen King’s novel about a young girl named Carrie who has telekinetic powers.

Stark portrays Chris Hargenson, one of Carrie’s classmates and a bad girl who thinks of ways to torment the girl she hates. Derby portrays Billy Nolan, Chris’ boyfriend with whom she plots to torment Carrie further.

Performances are scheduled Thursdays through Sundays from now through May 28. Show times vary depending on the performance date.

Holling named to honor roll at university

Jessica Holling of Boulder City was among the 106 Kansas Wesleyan University students named to the president’s honor roll for the spring 2017 semester.

Full-time students with a semester grade point average of at least 3.75 and no incompletes are listed on the honor roll at the end of each semester at the university in Salina, Kansas.
