Locals chosen for ABC’s ‘Christmas Light Fight’

The Christmas spirit is alive and well in Boulder City — even though it has arrived a bit early.

Dale Ryan and Dyanah Musgrave, who are known for decorating their home at 1525 Fifth St., have been selected to participate in the ABC show “The Great Christmas Light Fight.” Ryan has been putting up decorations since Aug. 1.

The final reveal and taping for the show is set for Tuesday evening, and Ryan and Musgrave are inviting members of the community to attend and help show the nation “how great a community Boulder City is,” Musgrave said.

“The more people we have, the better it will look for our wonderful town,” she said.

Filming is anticipated to begin around 6:30 p.m. and may take several hours. Those attending are asked to wear festive Christmas attire. Santa Claus and Jingle Cat are expected to attend.

Interior designer and star of the Food Network’s “Restaurant Impossible” Taniya Nayak and lifestyle expert and host of HGTV’s “Million Dollar Rooms” Carter Oosterhouse return for the fourth season of the show, traveling across the country to make tough decisions about the most extravagant and eye-catching Christmas displays.

Families from across America decorate their homes to the extreme in hopes of winning a $50,000 cash prize and the Light Fight trophy.

The series will air on three nights, for two hours each night during three consecutive weeks in December on ABC. In each of the six one-hour episodes, four families compete for the $50,000 prize, with a total of $300,000 given away for the season.
