Family activities highlight Spring Jamboree

Family-friendly activities will highlight this weekend’s Spring Jamboree.

Presented by the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, the annual event will be held Saturday and Sunday in Wilbur Square, Bicentennial and North and South Escalante parks.

Jill Rowland-Lagan, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, said organizers have been working on the event for the past year and it will be held rain or shine. Currently, weather forecasters are predicting thunderstorms in spots and a high of 68 for Saturday, while Sunday’s forecast is calling for a high of 75 with cloudy skies. Highlights of the festival include a classic hot rod show, gem and mineral show, Little Miss and Little Mister Pageant, Bark in the Park dog show, antiques show, and arts and crafts.

There also will be entertainment, a kids zone and food and beverages.

Festivities kick off at 8:45 a.m. Saturday with opening comments from Mayor Rod Woodbury and “The Star-Spangled Banner” sung by Amy Finn. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
