Elks Brighten Holiday

Boulder City Elks Lodge No. 1682 brightened the holiday of community residents in need by delivering 160 food baskets. Extra donations from lodge members were given to Emergency Aid of Boulder City later in December. Marylyn Phillips, president of Emergency Aid, and several volunteers from the nonprofit accepted the donation from Karen Murray, exalted ruler of the lodge. The donation included 21 boxes of canned goods, instant potatoes and stuffing along with 12 frozen turkeys and 17 chickens. Additionally, the Elks provided Christmas gifts for about 60 residents of the Nevada State Veterans Home.
