The Dan Leach Memorial Fund is hosting two events this week to raise funds to support local youths.
The Old Town Cocktail Walk is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $20 per person and include four drinks at participating downtown locations: Evan’s Old Town Grille, Boulder Dam Brewing Co., Jack’s Place Sports Bar and Grill, Milo’s Cellar and Inn, and The Dillinger.
Tickets may be purchased in advance or in front of the Chamber of Commerce Friday before the event.
The annual Dan Leach Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Saturday at Boulder Creek Golf Course. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
The tournament follows a scramble format with golf-themed prizes for the winning foursomes. Additional prizes will be awarded on designated holes for longest drives, closest to the pin and longest putts. The round culminates with a dinner and silent auction at Boulder Creek.
Entry fees of $125 per person include dinner and raffle tickets for prizes donated by the local community.
For those who want to attend just the dinner, scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., tickets are $30.
The Dan Leach Memorial Fund was created in memory of Dan Leach, a Boulder City resident and Metropolitan Police Department officer who was killed in an auto accident while transporting prisoners. Funds raised are used to help children participate in youth-oriented activities that they otherwise would not be able to afford.
