Search underway at Lake Mohave for missing teen

National Park Service rangers are searching for a teenage boy who was last seen trying to help another swimmer at Lake Mohave near Placer Cove.

A call came in around noon stating that the teen had jumped off a cliff to help another swimmer below. Several witnesses said the other swimmer made it to safety, but the teenage boy went underwater.

The cliff is approximately 20 feet high, and the water below is around 65 feet deep.

National Park Service rangers responded to the scene and are searching the area by land, water and air. The Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue Dive Team from Las Vegas is assisting with the search.

The incident is under investigation.
