A nearby shooting club will appeal a citation issued by Clark County for a large sign painted in the desert behind the business.
The sign, which reads, “Pro Gun Club,” is painted in large white letters on a hill owned by the Pro Gun Club shooting range, which is on unincorporated Clark County land just north of Boulder City’s city limits.
When the sign first appeared in early June, residents complained to both Boulder City and county officials that it was unsightly, prompting a county code inspection.

It may be true that any publicity is good publicity, but one nearby business’s promotional approach has been labeled anything but good by some Boulder City residents.

number of Boulder City residents who could see it from U.S. Highways 93 and 95.
The sign originally read, “Pro Gun Club open to the public 7 days,” with a phone number in white letters that could be seen for miles. It now simply reads, “Pro Gun Club.”
