Lorraine Darlene Buchanan, April 16, 1954 – June 20, 2011

Lorraine D. Buchanan, a longtime Boulder City resident, passed away June 20, 2011.

Lorraine was born April 16, 1954. She was a friend to all who crossed her path and always made herself available to assit anyone in need. She is survived by her children, Darlene Gonzales of Boulder City, and Phillip Gilbertson of Tracy, Calif.; grandchildren, Jessica Gonzales and Leslie Gonzales of Boulder City, and Timothy Gilbertson of Texas.

A memorial service will be held today, June 30, at 10 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

Byron Frank Green, July 10, 1923 – June 22, 2011

Byron Frank Green, 87, of Boulder City, passed away on June 22, 2011, in Las Vegas. He was born on July 10, 1923, in Glendale, Calif., to Frank and Hazel McClemont Green.

Byron was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and served during World War II. He worked as a police officer for Glendale, Calif., for 30 years until retiring in 1978. After retiring, he moved to Searchlight, Nev., and later to Boulder City. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Byron was preceded in death by his wife, Elie, who passed away in 1999. He later married Helen Patrick in September of 2000.

Byron is survived by his wife, Helen Green of Boulder City; a son, Richard Green of Santa Fe, N.M.; two daughters, Lois Kerr of Washington state, and Vicki Humphrey of Pamona, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held today. Thursday, at 11:20 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Boulder City Family Mortuary.
