Moapa Valley’s Conner Mortensen ran for 132 yards and scored five touchdowns as the Pirates defeated Boulder City 41-19 last Thursday to clinch the 3A Southern League championship.

The Pirates (7-2, 2-0) advance to the 3A state playoffs Friday. The Pirates hope to reach the state title game for a sixth straight year, having lost the past two to Truckee.
But for the Eagles, it was their final game. They end the season 3-6 and 0-2.
