It is not the winning streak that matters, as much as whom you beat. At least that is the way senior middle blocker Katie Robbins sees it.
Robbins and her teammates on Boulder City High School girls’ volleyball team are going for their 15th consecutive win today, Thursday, when they play at home against visiting Moapa Valley, at 5 p.m.
“The winning streak is nice, but it is not the focus of our team,” Robbins said. “We play to win and the streaks are whatever they are. We want to beat Moapa Valley because they are in our league and because it is Senior Day.”

In recent years Moapa Valley High School has dominated Boulder City on the football field. But several Eagles seniors believe this is the year that the losing streak ends.
“We plan to bring it against Moapa Valley,” said senior nose guard James Morgan. “We haven’t played well against them in recent years, but this team has a different heart. I think we can beat Moapa Valley. We just have to believe and play like we mean it. We can end their streak and start one of our own. It would be a great victory not only for the seniors but for everyone on the team and the coaches.”
