Find adventure on hike to secluded falls

Darwin Falls, in Death Valley National Park, California, is one of my favorite places to go when I need to clear the cobwebs from my head. It affords me a full-day scenic trip, during which I can take a short, yet adventuresome hike, and immerse myself in nature without anyone else around.

Blythe Intaglios’s size most impressive

Located near the lower Colorado River in eastern California, the Blythe Intaglios are giant designs, man-made long ago by engraving, tamping or scraping away the desert pavement, thus exposing the lighter gravel or soils beneath.

Members of the Boulder City-Henderson Heatwave swim team returned home with several top 10 finishes after competing July 26-29 in the Southern California Swimming Summer Junior Olympics in Riverside, California, at the Riverside Aquatic Complex.

Porter betters triathlon results at national tourney

Fourteen-year-old Boulder City resident Ethan Porter took on his toughest challenge yet as a triathlete and placed 35th out of 68 competitors at the Elite National Championship on Saturday , Aug. 5, in West Chester, Ohio.

Little League team ends postseason with 2-2 record

Concluding its postseason Aug. 3 with a 2-2 record in the Western Regional tournament, Nevada Division II state champions Boulder City Junior Little League wasn’t able to get past Northern California, losing 9-0 at Ida Price Field in San Jose, California.
