Junior distance runner Jessica Tobler won two events Friday as the Boulder City girls track team takes a slight lead after the first day of the Class 3A Southern League meet in Overton.
Tobler won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 32.26 seconds and the 3,200 in 12:09.12 as the Lady Eagles won five of nine first-day events.
Sophomore Kaylee Domzalski won the 100 in 13.36, and the relay teams won the 4×100 and 4×400 events.
The top two finishers in each event qualify for the state next weekend in Reno.
Securing a place in the state meet by finishing second was Zoe Dodd in the 100 and Whitney Barlow in the shot put.
The Lady Eagles have 41 points while Moapa Valley is second with 34 points, and Virgin Valley (18) is third.
For the boys, junior Christian Nilsen was the lone winner for Boulder City with a discus toss of 127 feet, 8 inches.
Also qualifying for state by grabbing second was Xavier Steel in the 100, Jacorey Dixon in the 400 run and 110 hurdles, Chandler Harkins in the 1,600 and the 4×200 relay team.
The Eagles are tied with Virgin Valley for second after the first day with 29 points. Moapa Valley has 35.
The track meet resumes Saturday at 9 a.m.
