BC girls soccer drops state heartbreaker: Overtime goal ends Lady Eagles state run

By Arnold M. Knightly, Boulder City Review

The Boulder City girls soccer team had its dreams of a first state championship dashed Friday in a 2-1 overtime loss to Elko.

Coach Duncan Stark said the team was downhearted after the game but understood reaching the Class 3A state semifinals was an accomplishment to be proud of.

“They left everything on the field,” Stark said. “They’ve come so far the past couple of years. The whole thing was, we wanted to make state. We made state and went down fighting.”
